Cultural mapping
This project captures and digitally preserves the Wilgabah cultural site at Wallabadah — the land we grew up on and where our ancestors once lived. Together with artists and elders, we’re recording, scanning, and creating interactive 360° and VR experiences to keep this culture alive and accessible. The Art Shack @ Wilgabah has been running group tours to promote the location with local groups like Tamworth Land Care, and statewide groups likeRegional Futures: Horizons and NSW Health having attended.
A protoype was developed in 2024. We aim to upgrade our 3D capture capacity to expand the prototype into a full experience, allowing everyone to learn about the site and artefacts housed at Wilgabah, even people who may not be able to access the site in person.
in 2024, with the support of araa, we were able to develop a prototype of this project
